Economics of Accounting Information

This course is designed for PhD students and young post-doctoral researchers in accounting who would like to extend and deepen their knowledge on current research issues in accounting.

The course seeks to provide an understanding of the role of accounting information in projecting profitability and firm value to external constituents and motivating and controlling the firm’s management.

The main topics covered in this course include:

The primary objective of the course is to introduce scholars in accounting to current research paradigms on these topics and to identify promising avenues for future research. The course readings comprise recent theoretical and empirical studies.
